Revamp a dresser

With a heavy dose of creativity, Robyn Tubb transformed a tired and dowdy bedroom dresser into a beautiful work of art. Check out how she did it.

Robyn Tubb is an embroidery whizz – and now she can add upcycling expert to her skills. She literally transformed an old tallboy using paint and wallpaper.

Robyn removed the handles, sanded the existing paint, then used Resene paints to upgrade the colour.

  • Creamy beige (top and legs): Resene Quarter Doeskin
  • Soft blue (drawers): Resene Charlotte
  • Charcoal/Murky green-brown (sides): Resene Possessed

She bought wallpaper samples from Resene and used these to paper four of the drawers. You can buy wallpaper samples for $5.50 for half a metre. She applied these with wallpaper paste.

  • Farmhouse Living, Pattern No. FH37532 (wood effect)
  • Pohjola, Pattern No. 5220-2 (houses)

Then all she needed to do was reattach the handles.

Beautiful, right?
