Crochet a baby mobile

This cute amigurumi bumblebee mobile, designed by Jane Bibby for DMC, is a fun DIY project for advanced crocheters.

The pattern uses DMC Petra size 3 crochet thread, which is twice mercerised to give it strength and softness. Note, in NZ, we stock only DMC Petra size 5 and 8 which are finer threads. You could use one of these or use DMC Natura Cotton. Natura Cotton is a low-sheen matt soft cotton. Petra is a high-sheen pearl-type crochet cotton.

You need:

DMC Petra size 3 Crochet Thread.  1 x 100 gm balls in each of:
A: Yellow shade 5745
B: Black shade  5310
C: White shade B5200
D: Beige shade 5712
E: Pale Lavender shade 5211
F: Pink shade 53805
G: Green shade 5895
6 pairs 6mm safety eyes (optional, can be replaced by small black beads or French Knots worked in DMC Petra Black 5310)
Crochet Hook sizes 2 mm and 2.5 mm
Yarn needle to darn in ends.
Polyester stuffing
