No fresh flowers in the garden to pick? No problem. Use paper flowers instead. Old botanical prints are a fun substitute for blooms when your favourite flower is out of season. And there are plenty of free prints to download from the internet.
Two sites we love are The Graphics Fairy (lots and lots of artwork in every subject, not just botanical) and Botanicus, a web-based encyclopedia of historic botanical literature from the Missouri Botanical Garden Library.
To download a volume of botanicals from Botanicus, point your mouse over here, then click the download button up the top. Be warned, the download is 36MB, but there are some truly exquisite botanical prints to see. The prints on both sites are free for non-commercial use.
